There’s a lot of talk about “magic” during this season of celebration, and reflection. It’s usually relegated to conversations about children, and rooted in the idea that magic is a construct – a filter we lay over top of reality to enhance their experience during this season of festivity.
This quote from Yeats reframes things though, for those of us not seated at the kids’ table. As you continue to work with your mindfulness practice, you may find that you notice more — more of what’s around you, more about what the people you interact with are actually telling you, more about your own internal terrain. As all of these things come into clearer focus, so might a little bit of the magic inherent in all of them.
It’s not just for the kids, y’all, especially if you’re the one who’s creating it for them. Don’t get so busy trying to make it that you forget to notice it where it’s already available to you.
