I love this quote from Pema Chödrön for so many reasons, especially during this time of year. You know that saying about so many places in the world (San Francisco, London…) that if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes? It’s a perfect metaphor for life. Mindfulness helps to connect us to the steady center that observes the ebb and flow of different “weather” (emotions, thoughts, storylines…) in our lives. It makes it easier for us to recognize those moments as the passing experiences that they are, and ride out the tough ones with a bit more steadiness.
Regardless of the weather where you are, I hope you are able to find some “sky” in your day today. Have a mindful week!
